The Image is Of Mauritius Radio Telescope.. for which I am working on.. So I thought better put this up. When I have some results I will put myself hopefully soon.
I am doing research in area of Astronomy and Astrophysics...I work on perl quite religiously..The nature of my work requires that one has to be comfortable with programming and what better than to do it in perl especially text processing part.
At present I am dealing with preparing a Radio Source Catalogue after making a Southern Sky survey
MAP at 151.5 MHz With Mauritious Radio Telescope which involves
data processing of 1 TB (Tera Byte) of data. I am using perl
programs for same purpose and wow it really has become damn easy than doing it conventioanlly.
...I love perl although I started learning in june 2000...hope one day I'll
know it decently..
An interesting fact:- Myfirst programme I wrote
in perl was 3500 lines long...so it's a good start anyway...!!
