An old joke from Larry Wall was that perl is a post-modern programming language.
The idea being that the essence of "post-modernism" is cut-up and collage, working with lots of different pieces from different sources without privileging any one point of view, or any one doctrine of what the right way is of doing things.
This joke does not, in fact, apply terribly well to Moose, which is more like "retro-nouveau-modernism" or something.
