Hello Perl Folks,

Over the last little while some of my Perl acquaintances, friends (rivals?) and I have become utterly addicted to a great (non-profit) site hosted by the The Department of Algorithms and System Modelling at the Gdansk University of Technology.

They have set up a testing ground for people to submit algorithms in many different languages (Most importantly, Perl!) and be automatically judged based on some pre-set criteria. The problems are mainly geared to algorithms with a focus on speed and memory usage but there are some golf problems (which Perl seems to dominate unchallenged) and all-around brain-twisters.

Some of us have found some very good and interesting solutions in Perl and thought it would be nice if we could have more representation at the site.

If you're interested, check it out at Sphere Online Judge

Hope to see you there,

Matt
