Correct, but using the correct operator (substitution) is only the beginning :) See Re: perl -pi -e s'/^\s+//'g $file, Re^2: perl -pi -e s'/^\s+//'g $file, Re^3: perl -pi -e s'/^\s+//'g $file, Re^4: perl -pi -e s'/^\s+//'g $file
