Can i used socket programming with perl to communicate with cisco router first and then download files from switches ? is it possible ?

    I'm sure it's possible, but I expect the FTP modules on CPAN will do all of the dirty work for you. It sounds like you don't have enough information about the software that runs on the routers and the switches. The router information you can get on I didn't have much luck finding anything detailed about your switches. It seems TCP/IP was supported by the switches, but may be an option that you may or may not have installed. Can you send me the URL for your switch technical information? And your switch model numbers?
