New free TTF font for coding: Camingo

I am enjoying a new monospaced font for coding my Perl using Textpad in Windows; it's called Camingo and it's available for free at myfonts.com, where you can see a demo. It has a very clear distinction between "1" and"l", a slashed zero, and a clean look I find very pleasing. The designer/publisher -- Jan Fromm -- calls it a "type family for programmers." I think they'd be OK with my pasting in this excerpt from its description:
A compact appearance and a moderate line height provide for good legibility and make writing code a pleasure. It is based on CamingoMono, but has several specially-drawn glyphs that work well at small sizes, including Q, l, &, *, ~ and #. The stroke weights are relatively light, which makes CamingoCode suitable for both bright and dark visual themes.

It is a nice font, surely, but alas it is also a proportional font and I like for my program texts a fixed with font. That makes it far easier to align columns.

Update: Silly me, I downloaded the font, but actually installed another one.

The site says "monospaced". Isn't it the opposite of "proportional"?

The font I downloaded "CamingoCode" is definitely proportional.

        See above.

Been using this font in a couple of editors since this post. Darn nice!

...the majority is always wrong, and always the last to know about it...

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results...

Not following you -- no difference between I and L? I'm seeing a difference in those two letters when upper case or lower case, and a nice difference between 1 and l (if that's what you meant). Tnx.

Hmm ... bizzare, for some reason the fonts weren't loading, I don't even know what font I was viewing, will have to reboot

I can view them at http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/jan-fromm/camingo-code/webfont_preview.html and yes there is a visible difference ... so I take back what I said :)

Will have to investigate, can't decide if I like it from the web preview
