    New guy stops by to see no new nodes He clicks to see last 7 days Other forums simply show the last 20 threads

      There already is something similar to what you describe-Recent Threads shows those nodes (and responses) occurring with a time frame (default appears also to be 1 day).

      Perhaps a link near the top of each referring to the other (depending on what someone is looking for) might be something for consideration?

      Just a thought.
