Also new to me. I also had to consult the dictionary. When I read the translation "Smeekbede", my conclusion was that I was happy to have learned a new word that is perfectly in line with the PerlMonks theme.

Well it's only the Monastery Gates, who's using that anyway and cares about the titles.

So changing the css-font for code sections to early medieval handwriting would be even better?
I have apologize:
I really thought it's about making perlmonks a better place for newbies.
I really should have asked what the intention was.

Nobody would guess what SoPW was without looking it up. "Supplications" is consistent with the monastery theme and being a slightly less usual word makes it, IMV, more appealing.
Optimising for fewest key strokes only makes sense transmitting to Pluto or beyond

Did the old title use to be the literal acronym "SoPW" or was it "Seeker of Perl Wisdom"?
update
I was able to answer it myself, it used to be "New Questions"
That's the diff:
- "New Questions",$sopwnum,0,0,"Seekers+of+Perl+Wisdom")
+ "Supplications",$sopwnum,0,0,"Seekers+of+Perl+Wisdom")
unless ($VARS->{fp_sopw_off} eq "on");

Is this the problem we are trying to solve?

I just had a look at "Other Users" and only one third of the monks currently listed were native speakers.
