    Feeding time at the troll zoo, is it?

      Is your view that said feeding incites responses or that it increases trolling in general? I feel like both would be untrue. The only time the user in question has ever ceased to abuse the monastery was after some pretty serious concurrent backlash. The possibility of having his inanities, lies, and blundering as an attachment to his professional résumé seems to be the closest thing to a deterrent we have and a well indexed record of it is the best tool there is in that.

      Update: missing preposition. :P

        full ack! ++

        Problem is:

        • Most regulars are well aware of the "phenomenon", so it's boring them to discus it again and again.
        • But since we are interested to attract new monks, we need to make casual visitors aware of it. Best before them getting frustrated.
        So just a short linking to an older "overview" thread on the subject seems to be the best compromise.

        This only needs to happen from time to time, and can also be done in consideration boxes.

        FWIW: One possible candidate can be found on my home node:

        -> All you need to know about SundialSvc4

        update

        more at LanX#Sundial

        Well eyepopslikeamosquito is our historian and statistician
        Thanks for the acknowledgement. As a Perl Monks historian, I can't help but notice he's significantly toned down his trademark “extravagant typography™”, “stylistic devices®”, “flowery analogies©”, and “ ‘unnecessary’ «quotes»∞”.     upvoted.  Fav'd.    “++”

        Heck, he's even dropped his trademark “quotes” in favour of "these boring ones." ... while still preferring American quotation style to British style. Nowadays his typography focus has switched to annoying us by underlining random words that are not links.

      Well spotted, 4000 from a total of 4655 (plus "anon" posts) seems a sound conservative estimate.

      What surprised me, and prompted my post, is that he'd managed to garner four consecutive node-ids (11119144, 11119145, 11119146, 11119147). Don't remember him achieving that before. Whether that means he's replying faster - or the pace of this site has slowed down - I don't know.

        Oh I see ... well yes, he has become the cornerstone of our troll cave here. :)
