I am a chemical engineering student learning Perl on my own for the purpose of processing bioinformatics data with the goal of computer-processed de-novo protein design (As if there's more than one type of de-novo protein design...). I have little experience with programming languages and therefore am running into various hurdles in the process. I am learning with Simmon Cozen's free book "Beginning Perl". It is a rather old version of the book.
