Good localtime, all.
I'm writing on the occasion of my monk-day. Nineteen years have passed since I first joined this little community, based on a recommendation from TheDamian that I read in the pair.com monthly newsletter. At the time, I'd been using Perl for about three years, and wanted to expand my horizons from just a mailing list and the monthly Toronto Perlmongers meetings.
I'm still a little amazed that a language I picked up to 'try a few things in' has ended up supporting me for over twenty years -- but open source can be weird like that.
Remember -- never stop learning. And, whenever possible, be kind. :)
