Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello Monks of the Monastery,

I need to create an excel file with reports, charts etc and need the ability to add to existing excel workbook or modify existing worksheets. Excel Writer XLSX is awesome but it lacks the modification feature. Any other modules?

Win32::OLE enables you to do anything you can do from the face of the spreadsheet or from VBA. It needs Excel to be installed. Despite the name, it runs on 64 bit as well as 32 bit systems. Much goodness exists in Using Win32::OLE and Excel - Tips and Tricks.
