I wouldn't say I hate it. It just seems to take two steps at each stage in place of a previous 1. Eg. Due to a browser bug, my posts frequently end up with extraneous text appended. With the old system, when I commit the post, I can immediately see if there has been such an addition, and then right below I can delete it and re-commit. With the new system, this does not show up in the "this is how it renders" part, so I have to go to the display view to see if anything has been appended; if it has, switch back to the edit view to delete it; then back to the display view to check it has actually gone (and nothing else has been added); and if it hasn't (or has), back to the edit view... I appreciate that I'm one very few Opera users that is afflicted by this particular problem; but none the less, it just seems retrograde to introduce this modality to the site in order to "fix" something that had been perfectly fine for over a decade. As (presumably) the old code is probably still there, if there were an option for me to configure my settings to revert to that old way, I would utilise it.
