I occasionally have my windows-emacs hanging several seconds when using flycheck according to the maintainer > ... I am sorry, but as said before we do not support Windows. As such, please understand that we do not want to document Windows-specific bugs and issues in our documentation. I think it's safe to resort to flymake then.

updateprobably my perceived problems with perlcritic blocking were just Windows related...
