Discoveries like those of Mr. Darwin keep pushing back the ascribed functionality of a god, or as Dr. Tyson puts it "god is an ever receding pocket of scientific ignorance."

Thankyou for the link to Dr Tyson's videos. I've been sitting here waiting for a delivery and that link led to "Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Best Arguments Of All Time, Part 1, 2 & 3" and they've kept me much more entertained than the crap Amazon series I was intending to use to while away the time.
I know I've seen a few snippets from him before, but he's not that visible over here. He's very entertaining.

im going to check out the links and videos soon, but scientifically, there is no way to prove nor disprove a god or creator (atleast without viewing those links first ;) ). but given the specifics, with how well everything works together in this universe, i would say it has to have some form of creationalism or purpose.
now i am not talking jesus type of creationalism and/or creationalism just for humans. and i cannot put my finger on what i mean exactly. but just look around you and view the beauty of life, it isnt by pure chance and randomness that flowers smell so good. for a plant to be beautiful and have a good smell, to me, means that it was for enjoyment and satisfaction. just like the trees that bear fruit or the stuff that grows out of the ground that is good for us, i think they are called vegetables. could you imagine humans evolving on a planet with none of those things? haha nope. what is the purpose of fruit and the birds and the bees, and well, the whole ecosystem? and thats just our planet, which is one spec... hell it aint even a spec, were like 1 quadrillionth of a spec. there are people who think it was randomness? or was just because we were in the habitable zone in our solar system? just because we are in a habitable zone, does not mean things should have evolved together like it has.
i know it probably sounds crazy, and quite honestly, i probably didnt explain it the greatest way i could have, but hopefully the point gets across. something wants life to live and it isnt a fluke or randomness. i dont know what it is or why it wants that, but it does. and something as simple as fruit in the trees and flowers that are beautiful and smell good... are just a few things that lead me to believe in a creator. and like i said, i am not referring to "religion".
now i am not going to try to speculate (anymore) who was the creator or why, or when or how. or even where... because quite honestly, i am still not sure if i am really here or not.

i am very open minded and appreciate any others thoughts. i am not trying to flame war. but you try to explain something from nothing. but then also try to explain if something created the universe... who created the thing that created the universe and so on and so on. its literally a mind F*** and something you can think about for the rest of the existence of the universe, and never have an answer for. i do not think it was meant for humans, or any other being/life form, to ever find out. sometimes i think it is all a simulation. sometimes i think einstein knew stuff that he never told people about from fear of causing catastrophe. but all you can do is live and love and hope for the best, in a universe full of growing entropy :)
