in thread PBP in German out of print - solutions?

Thanks Laurent, that's indeed interesting.

But I have no intention to reduce the revenues of anybody, the company I'm working for can afford buying books, IF they are sold.

    I appreciate this.

My only point was really to say that O'Reilly Media seems to be pretty open to make freely available their books that they no longer have in print and have no intention of printing again. They just need to make sure that their authors and translators also agree with such arrangements.

And my guess is that a book that is out of print no longer makes any revenues to its author(s) and translator(s).

And, of course, my personal take was to make my book on Perl 6 available for free (in e-format) from the very beginning, because wide circulation and availability was more important to me than financial revenues (and I am very happy that O'Reilly accepted this view). But obviously, I can understand that other authors don't have the same view on this.

And I think that this is a very interesting option for "terminated" projects, thanks! :)

But from what I heard so far this doesn't apply for PBP.

      Cheers Rolf
