in reply to Solved: forced preview in user settings

I'm a bit startled because whenever I write a comment, I only have a preview button.

I am quite fine with that because I like to double-check my writings anyway, and I am sure that I have never checked that option in my settings.

Maybe the issue is related to some "session" or cookie lifetime? Or you can check the button, but not uncheck it because the software doesn't distinguish between "option off" and "option not set" (BTST)?

Right, because you never enabled "No Force Preview". If you enabled "No Force Preview", then it would show both preview and create on the first form (edit: because it's not forcing you to preview). If you don't enable "No Force Preview" (the default), then your first form only shows the preview button (edit: because it is forcing you to preview).

Ah you are right, I misunderstood the effect of enabling this feature.

Same for me. I'm sure it has been this way ever since I joined (2011).

I'm in favour of forced preview.

But if this setting is buggy, there might be further trouble.

I'm in favour of forced preview.

is there a preview option at all when you're trying to edit your post and hit stumbit?

        AFAIK no!
