Not 100% on this one but I'm pretty sure that the DATA handle is not actually buffered in memory but the handle is just automagically already opened and pointing at the correct place in the source file. Otherwise, if you had a large amount of data in the DATA section, it would require a lot of memory up front for your program. bbfu
