The username comes from "Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension", a 80's era movie starring Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum and a host of other almost-names. Rent it and learn all about the 'Blue Blazer Regulars'...(and yes, it's corny, but that's the way I am...) Personal info: A not-so-old COBOL programmer who moved on to bigger/better things (and then got drug back in). Well, maybe not bigger, as they don't get much bigger than Big Blue, but still better. Currently working for a small telephony company doing various tasks - unfortunately, only a little bit of it in Perl. Work History (in reverse order): 2004-Now: Into the depths of .NET2003-2004: Back to COBOL on an AS/400 2001-2003: Yet more Perl, but now on an NT box 1998-2001: Back to Sybase and UNIX, first intro to Perl :) 1995-1998: Back to COBOL & IDMS 1993-1995: Sybase DBA (sort of) and UNIX - talk about being dropped in the deep end... 1987-1993: COBOL & IDMS on an IBM mainframe 1983-1987: COBOL on a Honeywell H6000 Yet more personal personal stuff: One wife (since 1984), two daughters (since 1987 and 1990), one dog (since 2007). |
