With golden hair and crooked grin,
Her angel's voice makes my head spin.
Can I stop my head's whirl
if I rewrite her words in Perl?

First attempt, please be gentle.

I dunno-- this doesn't even parse. Is it enough for a poem to contain the word "Perl" for it to be a Perl Poem? Or am I overthinking this?
(naw, I'm right-- ya gotta have aesthetic standards, man.)

    The Autonomic Pilot

      At least it is not
      Another of those stupid
      Haiku Poems

Yes I am aware that this is not one either.
I couldn't give your post enough positive votes, so I'll give you a resounding "Here, here!" instead.

        Nuance

Baldrick, you wouldn't see a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on top of a harpsichord, singing "Subtle plans are here again!"

Don't be so critical. Perl deserves to have poems written about it as well as in it. After all, it is traditional to address the muse directly through an ' apostrophe. ;)
Great point re: apostrophe and the perl-muse. But, let's be real, if I weren't so critical, I'd just be a geek at a terminal with a smelly dog under my chair. At least, as it stands, I'm a geek at a terminal with a stinky beagle and the premier critic of a bold new poetic school. Let a man dream, for heaven's sake.

The Autonomic Pilot; it's FunkyTown, babe.

I was trying to express my wish for Jaime to be as easy to understand as Perl is becoming for me.

It was both a compliment to the beauty and wonderfullness of Jaime and to the simplicity and ease of use of Perl.

I can only say what my heart feels.

      JJ

Perl is easier to understand than women? Sure, I'll agree with that.
Quantum Physics is easier to understand than women. It's a good poem.
Oh so true. See this : )

There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling now.
