Creating a Windows GUI...?

shaolin_gungfu has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks,

Can anyone tell me if there is a nice easy way to create a pretty Windows GUI for my Perl Program?

I've developed a web robot, and at the moment I just run it from the dos command prompt, but it would be really nice to have a little windows based program to execute it through, can someone point me in the right direction? Can this kinda stuff be done with Perl?

Any thoughts and comments welcome, thanks Tom

Student of all things good and Perl,

Have you looked into the freely available SpecTcl? Download this gem, read the tutorial, and hand tweak the callback function stub. Viola! You've got a great GUI. What's more it is a fine way to learn Tk programming through code inspection. I personally recommend the O'reily's Tk book, crap for learning it but it makes a good reference.

I have seen references on source forge for other GUI generators, but they are still quite beta. Give SpecTcl a whirl then pass on what you have learned! Peace to you and yours, fellow disciple.
