I'm afraid I have not much else to offer than: there there, brother dep, thats okay, we all have to make sacrifices in perfection for practicality in the workplace... ;-) Which I by the way do mean seriously...
But I'd like to add that the book you are mentioning is one of the best ones I have read myself, and tip people off that they can visit the website of the authors also for a great read, and also to get a little idea of how good the book is. There are extracts from the book, as well as some great articles and essays, of which the star trek one is a personal favourite. Haven't been visting that site/read the book in a while, I think it is about time to do that again. :) Sorry all for the slightly OT post, but that book just makes you happy. :) You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
