<h3> Module Favorites and/or honorable mentions: </h3>
<p> [mod://WWW::Mechanize], [mod://XML::XPath]. [mod://Text::Balanced], [mod://Devel::Peek], [mod://Module::Corelist], [mod://Module::Release], [mod://DBM::Deep], [mod://Tie::File], [mod://Math::Units::PhsyicalValue], [mod://Benchmark], [mod://Net::Server], [mod://MIME::Lite] (html), [mod://Net::SMTP::OneLiner] (quick text), [mod://HTML::Table::FromDatabase], [mod://File::Slurp], [mod://IPC::System::Simple]
</p>
<h3> Discoveries </h3>
<p> This is potentially useful in many different situations: <c>m/blarg/ and m/\Gelseward/</c>
<p> I always mean to use this, but forget about it: <c>perl -MO=Deparse yourcode.pl</c>
<p> This is like <c>bash -x script.sh</c>, but for perl: <c>PERLDB_OPTS=AutoTrace perl -d script.pl</c>
<p> Pike's previous_object() is sadly missing from perl... or is it? [id://690713|previous_object()]
<p> [mod://Devel::EvalError] seems to indicate that checking $@ for eval errors is going to fail some of the time.
<p> [bart] points out possibly the coolest thing I've seen (as a side comment) yet: [id://595736|<c>$+</c>]
<p> [id://846053|use warnings FATAL => qw(uninitialized);] Not something I'd use very often (I'm more of a [mod://common::sense] kinda guy), but I can see potential value in it.
<h3>Modules I mean to look at but haven't</h3>
<p> What is this [mod://Coro] module? (found in [id://714778|714778]).
<p> Who is loading this page? [mod://HTTP::BrowserDetect] pulled from this post: ([id://605732|id:605732]).
<p> [wfsp] has pointed out [mod://HTML::Template], which I think I might really really like.</p>
<p> I should really re-write FoxPro::DBF (never published) to be like (or use, or extend) [mod://DBD::AnyData] or at least fit in the DBD namespace somewhere (around [dist://AnyData] I imagine). ([id://595119|ref])
<p> I have a huge library of roll-your-own [mod://CGI] stuff that I use. Recently I started looking at more modern alternatives. I mean to try to use [mod://CGI::Application] eventually. It's really neat. That necessarily implies the use of [mod://CGI::Application::Plugin::Session], since I really like (and already use) [mod://CGI::Session]. I disliked [mod://CGI::Session::Auth] after careful examination... If you have any other suggestions, <c>/msg</c> them over please.
<p> [mod://Sub::Contract] and [mod://Class::Contract] both seem really neat. Must check them out.
