I think something that Perlmonks is lacking in is more
Themes. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the red, blue, and
dark just as much as the next guy, but every once in a
while you just want some other colors. Personally, I'd
like to see Green, but any other colors would be a
welcome addition, as well. What do the other monks think?
Just my thoughts,
Apterigo

If you come up with the theme, including all the
associated images and color specs and so on, you'd be more
likely to actually see it get implemented. (Hint, hint...)
There's no reason for the people with graphic design
skills NOT to create the themes themselves. I may be
wrong, but the GIMPing probably takes way more time than
loading a new theme into the code base...and it's something
a volunteer could do pretty easily.

I think it'd be pretty neat if, as you gained XP and ascended in monkly stature, you got access to more goodies, such as an expanded set of themes. It'll increase the incentive to be active in the community and, hey, everyone loves small prizes and milestones.

Combos sound sweet. Maybe do like a customizable one where you can pick text color and shading color.
