You could submit all parameters to a small script, which loads very quickly stating something like 'Processing your request' (no forms, no strings attached, just for sex ;-)

Then this little scriptie submits checks the parameters which come in, and if they seem valid, resubmits them (perhaps) using LWP to Yet Another Perl Script. Once this POST (or even GET) action is complete, you have your 'please hold on there' script reload to another page.
