Most Unixes used to assume that if you used uppercase characters for your username that you were on an uppercase only terminal. Checking with Linux, if I use all uppercase for the username it assumes that my terminal is uppercase only. If I start with uppercase then go to lowercase it assumes a mixed case terminal. However, it's still a case of why bother with the shift key?	[reply]
