To be truthful I don't like Flash but the music industry is in love with it.... Please define not well supported? So long as you say with Flash 4 and not 5 or MX you are generally OK. These days a lot of the stuff that is done in Flash can be done with well crafted JavaScript and Layers or just plain old animated GIFs but this tends to take longer to design
