CafePress Store Update

by vroom (His Eminence)
on Dec 10, 2002 at 22:00 UTC ( [id://218935]=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Hey all,

Check out the PerlMonks web store at http://www.cafepress.com/perlmonks for an in-progress view of the original planned offerings.

  • Shirts-the main graphics are pretty much set although they'll probably be on the back of the shirt instead. OeufMayo is working on art for the front pocket areas and some minor modifications
  • Camel Time Clock-Clock is probably as it will be unless someone has a really good suggestion for change
  • Perl thong-Also probably a design that will stick, however we're always looking for more ideas, since this is likely to be such a hot seller.

Proofread these / look for any problems / offer any suggestions. Comment below.

    ok here are my suggestions:
    • Postcards featuring Monk Wisdom
    • Baseball caps
    • Badges - with camel!
    • And oh-so-obvious - a mousemat
Any chance of a pet feeding bowl too? I broke my old one :(

      And oh-so-obvious - a mousemat

Is this kind of like a bearrug? In that case, so long as i'm not the mouse used to make the mat, sounds fine...

"Perl thong-Also probably a design that will stick,"

No, I'm not gonna go there - it's too easy...

"...however we're always looking for more ideas, since this is likely to be such a hot seller.

Are you taking bets on that?

The Thong has already made one sale -- somebody bought it via my test store (even though the test store tells them not to). The procededs will be forwarded to YAS for the PM fund, just as soon as I figure out how to best do that.

Okay, I wasn't going to do this but uh...
It is for a good cause.

    Thongs:

    Use strict or get spanked

I'll let you figure out how to position the words on that little piece of fabric...

Cool, 2 "Expect the Inquisitors" shirts in the mail...

Now, for the important part, DON'T UPVOTE vroom's POSTS! I'm only 1001435 xp behind him, I've almost caught up :)

Maybe I wasn't clear. The designs might change a bit in the next couple days. The shirts you may have bought might turn into collectables now. I've added a large warning about this on the store now. If you want to cancel your order you may want to try to contact cafepress today.
I'll take my chances. Thanks for the warning, though.

Edit 2002-12-20 Got my shirts! "Expect the Inquisition", I love them!

If there were any further proof required that Perl users are members of a counter culture, the extremely bizarre "I love Perl" thong is it.

It doesn't get any weirder than this, does it?

but my friends call me T.

Hmm... You must have posted before reading the replies?

Remember the Powered by Perlmonks thread?

I have always like that fire logo, and think it'd make a good sticker/poster.

Are those the only designs you'll have, or are you still taking suggestions? If so I'll see if I can come up with one, even though I'm no artist by far

We're looking for more designs and good ideas. Currently the ones on the site are the ones I believe we already have decent designs for in place.

    Update:

    A few more items added

    • XPW sticker (in linked perlmonks_too store)
    • Mousepad
    • Hooded sweatshirt-(Looking for an improved front-design perhaps, like the simple concept... perhaps a little better styling would be good though)
    • Baseball Cap

If you want to display the contents of both of the stores at once, you can separate each of the store names with commas:
      http://www.cafepress.com/perlmonks,perlmonks_too
The customized section at the top of the page will be from the first store name in the list.

How do I love -d? Let me count the ways...

If There is more than one way to do it then it follows that There is no one way to do it so each design should be available on all clothing types...

Okay, we all know that you get some more votes when you reach level 10. You get shown how to find the secret passage behind the bookcase. You are shown how to do the Secret Saint handshake.

But you want more. You want the T-Shirt!

    #1
front: I made Saint and I all got was this lousy T-shirt.
    back: Perlmonks.org logo

    #2
front: Do you know the Secret Saint Handshake?
    back: Perlmonks.org logo

      Or:
      I Made Saint

      (saint logo)

*AND* paid for this lousy t-shirt

Which you can buy for $199.99... If you're a non-saint and decide to buy this well, good for you... people can pick up on posers though.
