Playing Muds.

I have written a set of Perl Programs/ Modules that with a bit of user set up, is able to log into a mud, prance about, kill mobs, and protect itself. Perl makes for the BEST language I have ever written in for doing mud work because of its inherent abliity to work with text. I'm setting up a CVS with sourceforge soon. I'll post a link when I have it all done. This goes the same for writing the mud server as well. (actually, the code can be easily reused and I'm working on that too. I am a nut.).

I am really looking forward to seeing this! Has anyone to your knowledge WRITTEN a MUD in Perl? Seems like it'd be a lot more flexible & easy to code than, say, LPC.
I've heard of something called either PerlMUD or PerlMOO. It's on Freshmeat. Maybe both are on Freshmeat.
I'm currently working on writing a mud-driver in Perl. I haven't quite gotten to the point where I'm ready to share, but it's close. I based it on a module called POE that handles most of the socket code. I would also be interested in the scriptable mud client for testing purposes. dscouch@purdue.edu

I would be interested in trading ideas! I'm currently working on developing a mud server myself. I'd be interested in hearing more about the client also... It would be a very cool way to test out the mud. :-) -Daq
