in reply to Win32::AdminMisc for ActiveState Perl 5.8.0 binary, anyone?

After a lot of munching the project settings I succeeded to compile Win32::AdminMisc with ActivePerl 5.8 (804). It seems to work fine mostly, but it crashed in the DESKTOP.pl example. I do not feel very confident about that build, but if you must you can install it from my repository at http://Jenda.Krynicky.cz/perl.

If there's anyone who has the time and skills to compile the module properly and sends me the DLL I'll pack it for PPM and upload it to my repository.

    Hi Jenda

I tried to tweak the AdminMisc.dsp settings - directory paths and include paths, and I hit the problem of missing Win32Perl.h file. A file of that name, by Dave Roth, is found in a couple of his modules on CPAN. Did you follow this route?

I would like to build the module myself (with MSVC 6.0) and try to investigate the crash that you reported. Are the sources of AdminMisc as tweaked by you available on your site?

    Rudif

Well you can get it from here. Basicaly all I did is I tweaked the paths and filenames, moved the Admin.h and Win32Perl.h from ./include to . and added a 5.8 section into Win32Perl.h.

Please let me know if you succeed with the debuging.

      Jenda

P.S.: I'll mail Dave Roth later today. He should know we are playing with his stuff :-)
