It's hard to see the problem from here.
You seem to know your way around debugging. Did you also try to edit the code in the module (.pm) yourself at some points to see what happens?

sidenote: in your signature, there might be a typo: I know of a Socrates, not Scorates.

    Yes this is quite an involved problem. Unless you know the intricacies of the module, or have seen this problem before, it is going to be difficult to offer help. But I live in hope. If that doesn't work out I'll move into dispair. ;)

    I try not to mess with other peoples code as a general rule. If I can, I want to avoid doing that here too. Although I expect I will end up having to do so. :(
