I would go if I can get off work. Is this going to be a road event? Or off-road? Why wait until 2004?
My idea is to have several days (3-5) of cycling along the lower Rhine with some Perl related talks. I need to find out what has to be organized. The tour itself would not be a big problem, but we need accomodation, transfer to and from train station and airports, rooms suited for talks, bicycle hire etc.
The local tourism agency has offered support, if I can provide data about people that are interested. This is why the first step is the survey.
Unfortunately I didn't get round to finishing the survey yet. It will not be off road, but on smaller country roads and cycling paths.

I have done some cycling in that area. We went from Freiburg i. Br. down to the Rhine. On the way back, we were south of Kaiserstuhl, but went over Tuniberg. That was a challenge, but doable. Ths ride occured in September, when they have the Neuwein and Weinstuebe. Except for the occasional mountains, as the above mentioned, the Rhein valley is relatively flat.
