It used to be 'shave my head' and then 'at a barbershop,' now I go to a salon to get a 'styled cut' :-P
Hmmm... I remember when I coded very minimalistically in assembler (sorta like minimal hair or 'shave my head') and then moved into a more pragmatic phase with C (high-speed, low-drag like a short cut at a barbershop), and now I program minimalistically and high-speed, low-drag with style in Perl! ;o)
A silly post for a silly poll.

Some of us manage to almost totally dispense with haircuts by going bald. Much easier and less risky than shaving your head. There's little chance of blood letting when your hair falls out naturally.
Have fun,

my girlfriend talked me in to shaving my head once, i use to have hair that was pretty long, which now people say i was crazy for cutting, but theres nothing better than waking up in the morning and having your hair already fixed and ready to go, i dont think ill ever let it grow back...definitely 'when i shave my head'

Whenever I *snip* feel like it!!!!!
When I was younger i'd cut it neat'n'short, and i'd let it grow till I had a small mop (usually didn't reach shoulder length), and then cut it like a 'bristle brush' again.
Then for a while I had a wide mohawk that didn't stick up (just kept shaving the sides), and then for a while I kept shaving it all off (i looked taller somehow, weird).
Now i'm satisfied with my long ponytail (I hate saying ponytail, cause I usually only tie it up only when i'm eating, or doing lab-type work, and when it is tied up, it's usually not an actual ponytail).

i get my hair cut when there's more than a fist-full left over after pulling it back into a ponytail. thumbs go above the ears and around to the back, everything below is shaved (no gaurd on the clippers), what's left sticking out of my fist is uncerimoniously hacked off.
but i would recommend to anyone who can get away with it and who hasn't tried before to shave it all off at least once, for a few months. it's wickedly fun.

I also got a new job.
And at least three times before that, new haircut then new job. I think it was a general sense of restlessness that induced both. But I feel like a song lyric when i look at the pattern.
Otherwise I'm currently looking for a convenient reliable hairdresser that won't cut me a fringe which automatically transforms itself into cow horns. or is that cowlicks I hate the double curl pointing inwards across my forehead.

usually I cut it short (5-7mm) myself using a phi*i** hair clipper, up to 5 times a year and let it grow how it likes to the rest of the time; but ATM I show off with a real haircut done by my beloved girl-friend. nearly the first time I like a haircut right from the start, a good sign that it looks kind of weird ;-)

There is nothing better than no hair at all. I started shaving my head almost a year ago and I doubt I will ever let my hair grow back.
pros
1. No more paying someone to cut it
2. No more worrying if the person you DIDN'T pay did a good job or not.
3. I cut my hair when I want.
4. I make this look gooood!
5. Nothing better than waking up in the morning, taking a shower, brushing my teeth, dressing, and bailing!
6. No such thing as a bad hair (day|week|month|year|decade|century) -- assuming you live that long --.
7. Can't be pulled by those malignant folks.
8. Bangs don't get in your eyes.
9. It's in!!
I could go on with the pros...there are just too many to state right now.
cons
1. Letting it grow back is a pain but with a little attention not too bad.

Funny. My friend ask to me what is this crazy site, with this strange pool. Yes it's not a monk, and don't know what is Perl (yet).
Well, I voted in the barbershop.
And he votes in "when I shave my head".
I asked to him, What?! go to a barbershop!
He tells: I don't need, when I shave my head I lost it.
... Yes, he's being bald!
But let's not laugh with the problems of others. No one know if in some years, 10, 20, 30, 40, I don't need to go to the barbershop too. Is a problem for every man...

...never.
I've been a longhair since just after I started college. Actually, I think the triggering event wasn't that I was in college so much as I had an internship at a particularly unrelaxed company while I was there.
So, since then, I've had a ponytail. And we all know what's under a pony-tail.

CowboyNeal is my barber!
Actually, it's Joe, the barber who's had a shop on the west end of Elm for years and years and years. It's everything you want in a barbershop: Good prices, lotta guys talking about guy things, golf magazines (he just started getting Maxim, too), and a good haircut, including a razor up the back of your neck if that's what you want, too.

Actually, both "when I shave my head", and at the moment, "never". I usually cycle through "bald, grow, grow, grow, bald" but right now I'm in the midst of an experiment to see how long my hair will get when I let it grow for a year. I'm nearing 6 months, and my beard is getting fierce. I'm starting to heavily resemble a Wookiee.
But my moustaches are long enough now that I can wax them into a mean handlebar. And that's just cool. Well, sort of. :)

I get my hair cut...
The usual response to, "I got a hair cut," is "which one?" On the same note, this poll sounds like its for mostly bald people. :) "I get a hair cut" would have been open to similar amusing answers. However, "i get a haircut," is better, as the compound noun is not open for re-interpretation.
