It's got to be Flann O'Brien. Nothing whatsoever to do with computers at all., but The Third Policeman is one of the best books I ever experienced. Oh yeah, and that's "Favourite Author" where I come from; for obvious reasons, "favorite" just starts me thinking of Bill...
