I did not disclose the problem domain because I did not want to harm the company we purchased the product from.
Thanks for the suggestion on serving static pages. It's an angle I hadn't really considered before. We could probably come to a compromise on the frequency of page updates, like once every 30 minutes. Update: Clarified wording about the problem domain.
