tomazos has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Dear PerlMonks,

I have recently moved from an Apple Mac based enviornment where I was editting my perl scripts in the text editor BBEdit by Bare Bones software. What I loved about BBEdit was that it was visual but at the same time allowed me to run and debug my perl scripts from within it, and had dialog accessibility to all the common unix based magic you use when editting Perl.

I am now in a Windows 2000 environment, and looking for a "visual" (ie not vi or emacs) text editor with a similiar sensetivity to the needs of perl programmers.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks for your time. -Andrew.
