I noticed that all the content in the Perl News section is collected by the perlnewsbot directly from www.news.perl.org.
The news section hasn't been updated since April 17th and I'm pretty sure something perl-related, however trivial it may be, has happened since then.
User-submitted news items work very well on many sites such as slashdot (no flames, I only read the headlines :D).
Is there any reason they couldn't work here? What do you guys think?

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:

<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
