( #3333=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

I feel like I'm getting warmer and that I have to move the foreach loop into the global section. Thanks for the advice thus far. I'm reading the docs prescribed by you all.

#!/usr/bin/perl print "Let's start! \n"; print question(); chomp($input=<STDIN>); print answer(); sub question { @array_q = `cat quiz.txt | grep ?`; foreach(@array_q){print $array_q[0] } } sub answer { $/ = -00; @array_a = `cat quiz.txt | grep -v ?`; foreach(@array_a){print $array_a[0] } } bash-3.2$ ./ Let's start! Name 2 shapes? Name 2 shapes? Name 2 shapes? sadf square circle North America Neil Armstrong bash-3.2$

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong>   <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
