The longer link was requested in the event that google may someday discontinue the goo.gl shortening service:

What's interesting is--what happens when google discontinues its social platform, online meetings (hangouts), and youtube--all of which were involved and are leveraged as tools to meet up each month and provide a worldwide view into our meetings whenever anyone is interested.

There is the valid concern that no part of the internet is forever. However, there's also the concern that it the debate can quickly grow silly when deciding whose part of the internet is less-forever than the other. I'll hedge my bets that youtube isn't going anywhere for a good while, and the decision to archive our meetings there is, in my pre-calculated decision to use it, a pretty safe bet.

A mistake can be valuable or costly, depending on how faithfully you pursue correction

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
