I think that the Prague.pm node is a good idea.
(Finding fellow Perl monks in your neighborhood.)
I would do it myself, for my own local area,
if it wasn't for the risk to see n threads doing the same thing,
possibly temporarily swamping the monastery with these threads (which would be a bad thing).
Maybe it would be worthwhile to setup some kind of (geographically) local area in the monastery?
Agreed, many of us may hesitate to give up his/her geographical location,
but this would of course be an opt-in activity.
Personally, I'd very much appreciate to go out for a beer (or two?) with any monks (or other level participants) from my neighborhood.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
