Imager definitely looks like the way to go for me. However, I have one other thing I hope someone can help me with: I installed imager but is says that it only can support .bmp and .ppm (along with some other useless image types). I'd really like to have .jpg and .tif support. Can someone help me figure out how to do this? Do I need to find a jpeg and tiff library? And will I need to reinstall Imager.pm? The module seems great, but the documentation is a little spotty at the moment....

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
