...how (annoying|depressing) the "dark holiday" can be, especially when (you lack someone to spend it with|plans fall through|the weather sucks|the holiday drags up thoughts of things better left to let time heal), or how annoying polls of almost the same thread can be when they occur at the same time each year (refer to Today, February 14, is... in 2003, Valentine's Day Plans in 2002, My Valentine's Day Planning Includes: in 2001, and I am a M/F/Other... in 2000-although it amused me that the week after the latter the next poll that came out was Do you own a gun? ...how appropriate).

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
