( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Today its been a year since I joined Perl Monks. I have no idea how I got here, maybe it was from some link on /., what was I doing on the Dec. 23rd 1999? Was I sitting in front of my computer at home, lonely, wondering what I would get my sister for Xmas? Was I just bored out of my mind on a Thursday night? (yes I checked, it was a Thursday)

I have no idea... And although I have come to contribute (aka: post questions, not answers! mind you) less over the past few months, I still feel like I am very much a Perl Monk, even after a year has gone by. I feel this is a community that I truely belong to. I have never felt odd or wierded out by slapping idiotic remarks to the chatterbox. I have learned to use "postincrement" in a phrase... Ex: "Dude! That flick postincrement!" translates to "$_, that flick++!" I have come to understand RTFM better, and learned how to RTFM better.

Bottom line, I still feel like a Perl Monk. Thank you all. Thank you, vroom.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
