Myself, I probably couldn't live without the following:
Vim
perl
Linux and so much that comes with it
My extensive collection of informative bookmarks (and Opera to browse them)
My cd player to channel the heavenly music of Pink Floyd to my ears
My notebook and pens
Probably so much more that doesn't come to mind quickly.

<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
