Humans often experience mixed emotions about a situation. We often come up with odd phrases to describe this duality. Dickens for instance said "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". The phrase: I laughed, I cried, I <fill in the blank with some action> Is a way of letting you express a situation in which you felt mixed emotions. I hope this helps explain it.
