You are not serious are you? there is no DOS on UNIX, thank deity well there is but your colleagues won't thank you for writing batch scripts in dosemu.
edit: oh and perl should be already installed on solaris, so there's no need to do it yourself, and even if it isn't there, you should probably get your system administrator to install it machine-wide, since you probably don't have permissions to do that.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
