For now, we have threads and forks. I prefer forks when coding for Linux. Perl6 will magically provide for parallelism by allowing the VM to handle that kind of thing. Basically, whenever your code could benefit from multiple threads or whatever, it will Just Happen. This is a completely different paradigm than with other languages (C, Java, C#, etc) where using threads means a fair amount of extra work managing those extra threads. Being Perl though, I expect we will also be able to reach down and touch the bare metal of threading and parallelism ourselves whenever we like. In reply to Re: Multi-core and the future
