As everyone else has had their say I will add my 6 pence. As I believe you said once (I have looked and cannot find the reference so please forgive me if I have missquoted you). Every post gets a certain number of random upvotes form ppl using up their votes. Every post gets a certain number of up votes based on a person. How often have I seen your posts shoot past mine in ++ despite the fact we have said the same thing. Names carry weight, if you are well known ppl will read your post ahead of others. Every post gets a certian number of random and targetted down votes.

It is my firm belief that these all balance out. Looking around the monestary it seems to work. What you lose on the corners you make up on the other corners.

If it aint broke then it was probably written in perl. So lets not fix this eh!

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
