This message is a very good idea. I do, however, have two comments:
- I agree with all the others who already pointed that this text is a bit too long. All the informations are helpful, but hardly anyone will bother to read it the first time they see it. And after that there will be no point to read it, since 'I've already seen that'.
How about breaking the text into smaller chunks and displaying them in a nodelet or as a quip?
- I would add something like this at the very beginning (or at least very close to it):
Having problems with your code? Go to #9 and save yourself a lot of time. Honestly.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
