Programming Competitions

arrow has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am looking for programming competitions, though since Perl is the only language I know, I need it to be nonstrict in the language type. I have been looking on Google, but all I can seem to find is competitions between colleges. I am trying to win money for college, so I need something open to high schoolers or to all age groups (preferably high school). I probably couldn't join a team competition, because I am homeschooled (I know) and don't know anyone else that shares my interest. Anyhoo, I know I am really limiting my range, but any help would be much appreciated.

The only contests I know that fit all your requirements are the ones organized around YAPC and TPC conferences.

It sounds like your issue is finding money for school. Drop me a line - I might be able to put a good word in to the Math/CS department at my old school.

I'm open to any colleges, just so long as they accept me (ha)! What would be your "old college" exactly?
